It's been a while since I last posted to the blog. Suffice it to say that I'm still getting used to the idea of having a blog to chart my progress on this journey to 26.2.
The training runs have been going well. It's taken a bit longer than expected to get my rythym and form back, but I can see progress.
The only real issue I've encountered is a dull pain in my left knee. Aches and pains are a part of training, so I've just continued to strengthen it on off days and gym days. I've also spoken to my doctor and he informed me it was nothing serious. Overall, with the isolated excerices and strengthening measures, it feels like it's well on its way to not being a big issue.
My most recent run was good, but not solid. I hit my time (1:30m) and mile goals (6 miles), but as I look back on it, I know I can do a better job with my breathing cadence and form. I'll continue to put a focus on my foot work, posture and deep breathing techniques on future runs.
The weather for the run was a bit hot and humid, but I started later in the evening to decrease sun exposure. The second half of the run was completed by moonlight which was much less brutal.
I'm well on my way to 26.2. I promise to update the blog on a regular basis so that those interested in following my progress can monitor it at their leisure.
